Curriculum And Learning

At DESS Primary Oud Metha, we proudly follow the English National Curriculum, with a strong emphasis on the core subjects of Mathematics, Literacy, and Science.

As one of Dubai's leading English-speaking schools, we are committed to delivering an educational experience that is both rigorous and inspiring, ensuring that every child receives a well-rounded and meaningful education.

With that in mind, our curriculum is designed to be irresistible, with lessons that are not only challenging but also deeply relevant to our students. We believe that learning should spark curiosity and foster a sense of awe and wonder, guiding children to explore their interests and engage with the world around them. By encouraging our students to be enthusiastic, inquisitive, and self-motivated, we aim to develop lifelong learners who are excited about their educational journey.

In the early years, our approach to learning is rooted in Continuous Provision, particularly within the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. This method allows children to explore and learn at their own pace, fostering independence and creativity. As they progress to Year 2, our students experience a blend of Continuous Provision and the Invent, Explore, Inspire (I.E.I.) curriculum, which helps ease their transition into Key Stage 2.

The I.E.I. curriculum is at the heart of our approach to preparing students for the future. It combines traditional subject learning with hands-on, experiential opportunities that encourage children to take risks, embrace challenges, and develop a strong sense of self. Through activities like outdoor learning, problem-solving, and creative thinking, our students build the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

At DESS Primary Oud Metha, we believe in nurturing the whole child. While academic excellence is a priority, we also place significant importance on the emotional, physical, and social wellbeing of our students. Our commitment to holistic education is reflected in our ‘Developing Character: The 6Cs’ programme, which focuses on building collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and other key skills that are essential for success in the 21st century.

We are dedicated to ensuring that our students leave us as confident, compassionate, and innovative individuals, fully equipped to tackle the challenges of the future. Our curriculum is more than just a pathway to academic success - it’s a journey that shapes young minds and prepares them to make a positive impact on the world.
